10 years ago, Erin Levine and Shelley VanRenselaar left their comfortable jobs at a bustling law office in Fairfield, CA to venture out into the unknown. Armed with her signature pink briefcase and the best paralegal in town, Erin set out to build Levine Family Law Group – a full-service boutique firm in Emeryville, CA. 10 years later, LFLG has solidified its place as a leading divorce and family law firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. So what is the latest and “greatest” with Levine Law? Read on to find out what we are up to and how we are helping not just our local community – but all Californians maximize their best (legal) result.
- Less than 5% of lawyers are selected as Super Lawyers and 3 of our 7 practicing attorneys have been selected to the 2019 list! (unfortunately, we aren’t permitted to announce who was chosen until 6/26.)
- We expanded our practice to include California’s “third parent law,” grandparent’s rights, and the drafting of egg and sperm donor agreements.
- We launched Hello Divorce, a “modern breakup service” offering on-demand, affordable legal help and wellness support. Hello Divorce also offers consumers a more cost-effective and convenient method to access legal coaches at Levine Law.
- As part of the Hello Divorce launch, we introduced a new web app to all Californians. The Divorce Navigator 2.0 offers an easy to follow, interactive guide that allows users with an amicable or uncontested divorce to complete, file and serve the 20+ mandatory court forms required in divorce.
- We brought on Desiree Howard, Esq.to provide legal advice, mediation coaching, negotiation strategy, and document review to all Hello Divorce users who purchase on-demand legal help. Desiree has a diverse clientele with a significant emphasis on the LGBTQ community.
- Erin Levine, Esq. was recognized by the American Bar Association as a 2019 “Women in Legal Tech.”
- Monica Espinosa, Esq. played a significant role in a pro bono case that ultimately saw a man wrongfully imprisoned for decades be released to his family.
- We brought on our friends and colleagues who own Modern Law Practice, to train and manage a fabulous intake team, introduce new technology to enhance our client experience and run a smoother operation.
- Ian Van Leer, Esq. joined our team as “of counsel” and assists several of our clients with issues ranging from child custody and domestic violence to reproductive assistance agreements and name change requests. With some luck, we may be able to convince him to join us full-time!
- Stan Sarkisov, Esq. celebrated his 3 year anniversary with the Levine Team and saw several of his articles on non-marital partnership agreements and gender equality published in state and local industry publications.
- Erin Levine will be speaking at Clio Cloud Conference this year with the entire team in tow.
- The (hands down) most beloved member of our team fought and BEAT cancer!
- Ashley Schuh, Esq. was recognized for the 7th year in a row as a Super Lawyer! She also brought us Rex, our office dog who is adorable but for whatever reason, always sleeps through our Thursday lunch meetings.
- We took a trip to Phoenix, Arizona to brush up on our intake and client management skills and well, just have some fun.
- New team members – Aimee Martinez, Mari Tanaka, Esq. and Kim Dupree joined the team.
- And last but not least – we went from no kids, to having 13 kids within the Levine Law/ Hello Divorce family!
