Growing up in Salt Lake City, Utah, where family is a societal capstone, I have always been interested in what makes a family and a marriage. Unrestricted by the predominant moral codes, I saw the law providing people with more answers and solutions when it came to break-ups or divorces. As a law student, I became involved with the Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (BALIF), the local LGBT bar association, and continue my involvement today as a member of the BALIF Board.
